Amichi (Nnewi South LGA), June 10, 2019 (MOI) An Anglican Prelate Ephraim Ikeakor has urged parents to release their children for the service of God.

Ikeakor, the Bishop of Amichi said this during the 2nd Session of the Anglican Synod holding at the Anglican Cathedral Church of St. Andrews, Amichi.

``Youths are future leaders of the Church and therefore should be given necessary teachings that will help them to build their faith.

``Purchase Bibles for them and teach them the word of God,’’ he said.

He enjoined parents and guardians to always inculcate the Christian virtue in their lives as these would go a long way in building their future.

The Bishop noted that some parents did not have time for their children thereby leaving them at the mercy of peer groups.

``These peer groups influence them negatively with bad morals and other evil practices that ruin their lives which in some cases lead to parents’ death.’’

He, then, called on the parents to play their roles as parents and monitor the welfare of their children, so as not to lose them.

``Train a child in ways he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

``Allow them to belong and participate in Church activities and programmes,’’ Ikeakor admonished.

He told them to embrace God for success and positive achievements.
