By Chiedu Okoye/Chisom Okafor/Uche Igboeli :
Awka, July 7, 2020 (MOI) Head of Optometry, Ministry of Health, Anambra State Civil Service, Dr Agatha Muoka has harped on the need for civil servants to undergo regular eye tests, especially pin-hole tests to ascertain their eye conditions.
Dr Muoka made the call during her interaction with workers at the Ministry of Information when she visited the Ministry to carry out campaigns on eye status testing.
She said that the pin-hole test should be used to detect people with pathological eye diseases, who would be referred for specialist eye clinics for treatment.
Dr Muoka, however, said that those diagnosed as having eye diseases that fall under the refractive eye condition, would be treated at the secretariat eye clinic.
She listed dry eye as one of the eye problems that affected people, who stay long on the computers or telephone screens and those living in industrial areas.
An Information Officer, Obianuju Isima, volunteered to be subjected to the pin-hole test to ascertain her eye condition.
``The Ministry has a special window to come over to the clinic for eye tests all through July,’’ Dr Muoka said. (MOI)
