ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON ANIMAL HEALTH PROVIDER/ STAKEHOLDERS BY MOA
Awka, April 13, 2018 -- The permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture Awka, Comrade Leo Imoka said that this present administration is committed and has passion for a better livelihood of all Anambrarians through wholesome meat/ meat products which will be ensured by the veterinaries in the state.
Making this known while declaring open one day workshop for Animal Health Providers/stakeholders in the meat Industry in Anambra State held at ADP Hall Awka, Comrade Imoka said that one can never have a complete human health adding that cleanliness is next to godliness and urged them to collaborate as to get to that desired height.
The Permanent Secretary said that only healthy and sound animals are to be slaughtered in all the slaughter houses in the state adding that there is need for cordial relationship to exist between the vetinarystaff and stakeholders for the good of the entire citizenry.
In an address by the Director Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development (FMARD) Anambra State, Mr. B.O Ndibe said that the continuing Education of Animal Health Providers and stakeholders has been used to update their knowledge, create employment and sensitize them on the policy direction of the government.
He was represented by Mr. F.O Nkem who said that the workshop is timely and advised all Animal Health providers to avail themselves the opportunity to improve on their various areas of endearours adding that the provision of a better Abattoir will be good for human consumption.
A resource person Prof. Chukwudozie Ezeokoli said that the workshop is geared towards safe guarding and preservation of human health adding that post mortem inspection is very necessary before certifying that the meat is good for human consumption.
Prof. Ezeokoli also said that what is paramount is what they can contribute for the betterment of the people and advised well-meaning Nigerians to rally round and build Abattoir adding that they can make money and as well for the benefit of the entire citizenry for vetinary profession has improved human health.
Contributing the Chairman of Anambra State Butchers Association Chief Felix Ikenna expressed happiness and advised Butchers to pay up their dues and cooperate with the vetinary Doctors. He promised that Butchers and government will be working together more than before, for the smooth running affairs of the state.Earlier, the Director Vetinary Services Anambra state, Doctor Dan Obele said that the essence of the workshop is for them to work together as one and move the state forward for the good of the society.
