Anambra Government inaugurates Agulu Lake Hotel

Agulu, Jan. 8, 2019 (MOI) Anambra State Government has officially inaugurated the Agulu Lake Hotel and Convention Centre.
Performing the ceremony, Gov. Willie Obiano reiterated his administration’s resolve to explore the vast tourism potential in Anambra in order to enhance the socio-economic development of the state.
The Agulu Lake Hotel, which was inherited by the present administration had few percentage of the work already carried out in the 88 hectares facility.
Gov. Obiano, who expressed happiness over the success of the project, noted that it would be fully turned into a tourism venture.
He hailed the people of Agulu for offering robust support to ensure the completion of the job, stressing that agreements entered into with the community would be honoured.
The governor said that the state had fully paid for landscaping of the area and asserted that more hotels would be attracted because of the adequate security now in the state.
Earlier, Chairman of the Board of Agulu Lake, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo said the delivery of the job was a testimony of Gov. Obiano's ability in promoting continuity in governance.
Prof. Soludo noted that an additional 200 rooms would be added to the facility, which he said would add great value in boosting the economy of the state.
Managing Director of the firm overseeing the facility, Mr Amaechi Ndili asserted that the firm was committed to offering world-class hospitality services to the people.
President-General of Agulu Community, Chief Andy Orakwelu said the project would attract tremendous transformation to the area.

Sen. Victor Umeh explained that the facility was a legacy project sustained
