PEBEC CONCLUDES ANAMBRA TECHNICAL REFORM WORKSHOP 2026

The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council engaged the Anambra State government and business entrepreneurs operating in Anambra State in a nation wide Subnational Engagement and Technical Reform Workshop 2026.

The forum drew an assemblage of some members of the State Executive Council, members of the State’s Chambers of Commerce, traditional rulers, business entrepreneurs, market leaders,some top government functionaries in charge of agencies and parastatals and other stakeholders in the business industry at the International Convention Centre, Awka.

The technical workshop centred on business enabling reforms and investment competitiveness.

Speaking at the forum, Pharm. Uchenna Uzoma Apakama, a certified Pharmacist and Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society Of Nigeria endorsed the workshop as apt but urged that more commitment be made by the federal government to site more federal presence in Anambra State.

Pharm. Apakama doubling as the MD/ CEO at PAXS Pharmacy Onitsha and the Chairman of the board of fellows in the Pharmaceutical Society Of Nigeria labelled Anambra as a state with vast potentials in human, mineral and material resources, but frowned at the under utilization of the state resources by the federal government.

He expects that federal government presence such as the full utilization of the Onitsha River Port, dredging of the River Nigeria, connecting the state to the national railway line system, among other federal establishments should be actualized to complement the efforts of Governor Chukwuma Soludo who has effectively dualized major trunk “A’ roads in the state and created an enabling environment for the inflow of of business through his effective blueprint on Security.

Pharm. Apakama decried the poor turnout of traders, entrepreneurs, artisans and business experts in the workshop and called for more sensitization to integrate the aforementioned practitioners in future workshops to make it more impactful.
