CMS ANNIVERSARY: CLERIC URGES CHRISTIANS TO EMBRACE LOVE, PATIENCE AND HUMILITY

The Priest-in-Charge of Church of Redemption, Umunya, Rev. Edward Bosah, has urged Christians to cultivate the virtues of patience, love, humility and sacrifice, reminding them that God’s mercy is the foundation of human existence.
Rev. Bosah made the call on July 27, during a special thanksgiving service held to commemorate the Church Missionary Society (CMS) anniversary at the Church of Redemption, Umunya.
In his sermon, which focused on Christ’s unconditional love for the Church, the cleric said it was love that compelled Jesus Christ to lay down His life on the cross for the salvation of humanity. He encouraged believers to emulate Christ’s selfless and sacrificial lifestyle in their relationship with God and fellow humans.
Speaking on God’s enduring patience with mankind, Rev. Bosah noted that God does not delight in condemning people but continually gives them opportunities to repent, change their ways and fulfil His purpose for their lives.
He further urged christians to extend the same mercy and compassion they receive from God to others, warning against judging or looking down on fellow human beings. According to him, every individual depends on God’s unfailing love and grace.
The cleric charged the congregation to make love, humility, patience and sacrifice their guiding principles in daily life, expressing confidence that the practice of these virtues would foster unity, peace and sustainable development in society.
