ONITSHA SOUTH LG SCHOOLS EMERGE OVERALL FIRST, THIRD POSITIONS WITH 5 GOLDS, 7 SILVERS, 3 BRONZE MEDALS

Township Primary School, Fegge and Christ the King College (CKC), Onitsha South Local Government Area have emerged the overall 1st and 3rd positions for Primary and Secondary Schools in the just concluded Anambra Sports Solution Initiative.

Commending the representatives of these schools for their outstanding performances, the Mayor of the area, Chief Emeka Orji reaffirmed his commitment and availability for the good of the schools in the area, promised to assist them in any way.

According to him,” These students made us proud, I sponsored them, I promised to host them if they win more trophies, I paid for their air conditioned bus from Onitsha to Awka for the three days, their refreshments and promised to assist them in any way, I appreciate their logedness and dedication.

“My promise to Onitsha South youths in terms of education, sports, skill acquisition is that I am available to help anybody that wants to go further in learning skills, sports, education, so far it will help the person to sustain his future, I am there to help, to see that they achieved it.

“Soon, I will start giving scholarship to University and Masters Degree level for the best WAEC, JAMB students, that will be my next step after empowering 200 women in Onitsha South LG,” Orji promised.

Also reacting, the Deputy leader, Onitsha South Local Government Area, Hon.Flanklin Onyeke who was with them throughout the days for the competition stated that he was delighted to commend the Schools’ representatives for their outstanding representation of Onitsha South Local Government Area at the state Sports Competitions.(ANSSI) 2025,.

“Your team’s remarkable performance and sportsmanship have brought proud and honor to our local government area. Your achievements demonstrate the school’s commitment to fostering athletic talent and promoting a culture of excellence.

“We appreciate the dedication and hard work of the students, coaches, and staffs who contributed to this success. We are confident that this achievement will inspire future generations of students from our local government area to strive for excellence in sports and beyond.

“Let me use this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Executive Mayor of Onitsha South Local Government Area, Hon. Emeka Orji for his invaluable support and provision of logistics to our students for the Anambra sports solutions incentive competitions (ANSSI)

“Your contributions played a significant role in their success, and we are thrilled with the outcome, your commitment to promoting sports development and empowering students in Onitsha South Local Government Area is truly commendable. Your leadership and vision are making a positive impact on our community.

“I offer warmest congratulations on this remarkable achievement. May this success serve as a testament to the school’s commitment to excellence and inspire continued greatness.

“May this victory inspire you to continue striving for excellence and pushing your limits. We’re excited to see what the future holds for you.

On the issue of Njikoka Local Government emerging the first position, Hon. Onyeke explained that “It is the same game but not the same team with our own, Njikoka LG came overall first based on the accumulated number of gold and silvers they got.

“But in terms of schools, Township Primary School came overall first in all the primary schools in Anambra State, likewise CKC, which came third in all the secondary schools in the state.

He sends his regards to the Coaches, and Onitsha South Sports Committees which include, Anene Loveth Uzoma, Nwachukwu Ginika and Ezeadim Helen, Okoye Ebere game mistress Central School Odoakpu, Agbazue Anderlyn Ifeoma, Game Mistress Township Primary School Fegge.

Others were, Chinaka Ifeoma, Game Mistress Special School Odoakpu, Oradiegwu Chidimma, Game Mistress CKC, Ogani Ikenna C, Coach, Township Primary School, Ebuka Obi, Coach–CkC, Ugochukwu Divine, Coach– CKC.
