Hon. Emelie Ibekwe, Onitsha North All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chairmanship flag bearer, has called on residents to prioritize healthy living following the Easter celebrations, stressing that wellness should be a daily commitment rather than a seasonal effort.
In a message themed “Health Is Wealth,” Ibekwe noted that true wellbeing goes beyond diet, highlighting the importance of regular exercise, active lifestyles, and conscious daily habits in maintaining physical and mental health.
He encouraged residents to adopt simple and sustainable routines such as walking and jogging, emphasizing that consistent movement plays a vital role in overall fitness and does not require expensive facilities or intensive programmes.
With the Easter period often marked by increased food consumption, he advised individuals to take proactive steps to maintain balance by staying active and making healthier choices.
He further underscored the connection between individual wellbeing and community development, saying that a healthier population contributes to a more productive and resilient society.
Ibekwe urged residents to remain intentional about their health, noting that sustained fitness is essential for improved quality of life and long-term wellbeing.
