Ekwulobia Community has declared total support to Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s second term bid, hands him 80 Million Naira Cheque to facilitate his campaign tour.
Ekwulobia Township Stadium went agog on Saturday, October 4, as Ndi Igwe and other calibres of Ekwulobia trooped out in their numbers in solidarity to Soludo.
Receiving the solidarity crowd and 80 Million Naira Cheque with enthusiasm, Soludo extolled Igwe Ekwulobia, Igwe Chukwukadibia Onyeneke for seeing the future.
He reminded Ndi Anambra that during the build up of election that brought him in as governor, Igwe Ekwulobia crowned him ‘Light God Brought (Ife Chukwu Wetara).

“Although, I am not the architect or initiator but God using me to fulfill his intentions.
“It was Jim Nwobodo as Governor of Old Anambra State who named Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi and Ekwulobia Urban Cities of the then Anambra South Senatorial Zone. The then Anambra South Senatorial Zone is today Anambra State.
“So, bringing Ekwulobia to urban status had been in government gazette long before now. We are just starting, Ekwulobia shall measure with Onitsha, Awka and Nnewi. The flyover already in place at Ekwulobia Roundabout is aimed at connecting rural cities to urban cities.
“Before long, individuals can reside at Ogboji, Onneh, Agbudu, yet go to work at Awka.
The road shall be smooth and there will be no hold up.”
The Governor enjoined Ndi Anambra to support his efforts to building liveable and prosperous Anambra State.
He wondered why there are still pockets of touting activities, extorting money from the downtrodden.
“I have said repeatedly, no levy should be collected from hawkers, table traders, wheel barrow/truck pushers and other little survival businesses. Anambra State aims at giving these set of people breathing space to survive, let us not jeopardize it. If you see something, say something, for something to be done.
“We introduced free education from nursery, primary and secondary schools across Anambra State public schools. It is not for those of us that can afford sending our children to abroad for schooling but for the downtrodden.
“I have also directed that every textbooks that is to be recommended for use in our schools must be designed in a way that when ‘A’ finishes using ‘B’ can still use it. Workbooks to be written into is no longer allowed. The aim is to make the downtrodden who has three children make use of a textbook for all.”
Governor Soludo made it clear that schools are not supposed to sow/sell uniforms, game dress, cardigans or school sandals. Parents should go to the market for these things.
“Say no, if you are being persuaded to buy these things from schools. Report to us if they insist, we will take it up from there.
“The idea of free antenatal, delivery/postnatal and health insurance scheme is to give equal opportunities to the rich and poor to medicare. These facilities are already in place, all we are saying is come out on November 8 to vote for continuity.
“The party is All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA), and the column logo is the cock.”
Soludo enjoined Anambra electorate not to fall to propaganda of food is ready politicians who go about telling people that vote does not count.
“Vote counts, if not why do they give money for it. It is elective in Anambra State and not selective. So, come out and vote, remain there to defending your vote and make it count.”
He enjoined mission schools managements to support his education policies, especially where it concerns making it available to all.
“It is irritating to hear that exercise books are customized in a mission school and parents forced to buy at cut throat rate only to make money. No school shall sell books. Books are sold in bookshops and markets.”
The Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Jezco Group Nigeria, Sir Joseph Ezeokafor while handing over the Cheque to Governor Soludo poured encomiums on his superlative performance in governance.
“The surprises are where the resources for all these infrastructure development is coming from. Soludo has done creditably well in governance. This is more reason why affluents of Ekwulobia Community squeezed out this to aid your campaign. It is for other communities, as for Ekwulobia Community, you are not loosing any of our votes.”
Men from all walks of life were present in the occasion. Prominent among them include Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachi Ibezim, Secretary to State Government Solo Chukwulobelu, Chairman Aguata Local Government Area Chairman, Dr Chibueze Ofobuike.
