CWO ZONE 1 OF ST. JOSEPH THE WORKER PARISH HOLDS JULY/AUGUST MEETING IN ENEKWASPUM

The Catholic Women Organisation (CWO), Zone 1 of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Enekwaspum, under Obosi Idemili North Local Government Area, held its July/August meeting on June 27, in an atmosphere of love, thanksgiving and Christian fellowship.
The meeting, which took place at Diamond House, Chris Onor Street, Omagba Phase 2, Onitsha, brought together parish executive, zonal leaders and members to strengthen their faith, promote unity and foster greater commitment to the mission of the Church.
Delivering the homily, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Eloka Nwachukwu preached on this year’s theme, “True Love in Action,” a theme which was carefully selected to work with by the organisation drawing his message from 1 Corinthians 13:4.
He stressed that genuine love is the foundation of the Christian life, noting that all talents and gifts are meaningless without love.
According to him, true love has both a vertical dimension, which connects humanity to God, and a horizontal dimension, demonstrated through selfless service and compassion towards others.
The event was attended by the Parish CWO President, Mrs. Stella Nnamani, members of her executive council, zonal executives and other women leaders of the parish.
The meeting was hosted by the Zone 1 leadership under the coordination of Mrs. Uzoma Chinazo (Ada Jesus) and her executive team, whose dedication contributed to the successful organisation of the programme.
Highlights of the event included the unveiling of the statue of Our Lady, candlelight procession, thanksgiving offertory presented street by street, renewal of members’ traditional nicknames, exchange of gifts and other activities that promoted unity among members.
The programme concluded with entertainment, sales and cultural dancing as members celebrated in an atmosphere of joy, love and thanksgiving.
