BRAKE FAILURE CAUSES TRAILER CRASH AT AGULU LAKE BRIDGE, ONE INJURED

A trailer loaded with goods worth millions of naira has crashed at the Agulu Lake Bridge in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, leaving one person injured.
The accident occurred in the early hours of August 29, when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while approaching the bridge.
The driver, whose name was withheld, attributed the crash to brake failure which occurred while he was descending the Nwagu hilly road. According to him, he made several attempts to control the trailer, but the brake problem persisted until he eventually lost control of the vehicle at the Agulu Lake Bridge, causing it to crash.
The trailer was reportedly conveying goods estimated to be worth millions of naira and had four occupants at the time of the incident the driver, two conductors and a woman.
No life was lost in the accident. However, one of the male occupants sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
As of the time of filing this report, the extent of the injuries sustained by the victim had not been ascertained.
