FRESH HARVEST, BETTER PRICES!

Residents and Markets across Nkpor and environs have witnessed a major increase in the supply of Okra and other farms produce as farmers begin to harvest their crops in large quantities.
The rise in supply has led to lower prices, as vegetables are more affordable for consumers now.
Traders reported that baskets of Okra, peppers, cabbage, Nsukka tomatoes and other fresh farm products are arriving daily from surrounding farming communities.
A farmer, Mr Michael Eze said that the increased production has helped reduce food shortages.
Many farmers said favourable weather conditions and improved farming activities contributed to the bumper harvest.
Mr Ikechukwu Mgbe expressed concern that while consumers are benefiting from cheaper prices, that farmers may earn less due to the high supply and high cost of transportation.
The farmers has appealed to the government to provide more support for them through improved access to markets, farms input and storage facilities for their benefits.
