Awka, June 9, 2021 (MOI) Wife of the Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Mrs Martha Chioma Ibezim has urged the clergy and wives of Church teacher’s of the Diocese to become faithful stewards.
Mrs Ibezim said this during the meeting of wives of the clergy and their wives, held at the Cathedral Church of St. Faith Awka on June 5.
Speaking on the theme: “Faithful Steward’’, Mrs Ibezim said it was a divine call for the women in ministry to reposition their minds, their words and actions.
Bishop’s spouse maintained that “God gives to his people different kinds of gifts, skills and abilities for his own work and expects faithfulness in return’’.
She notes: “the God we serve notices both the quality and quantity of what we do for him and encourages the women to work diligently in all truthfulness as God rewards diligent servants’’.
Mrs Ibezim maintains: “all have equal privilege but the more one is diligent and faithful with the gift and talent God has given to us the more fruit he produces.
“What are you doing with the talent that God has given to you? What are you doing with the people, budget, time and wisdom of God in your lives?’’
She lamented over a laxity of some of them, advising them to sit up to their calling.
The spouse of the Bishop said: “God’s call upon them in the ministry is for them to be faithful stewards and encourage them to be good managers of resources entrusted in their care’’.
Making reference to the parable of the 10 servants, she maintained that those who work diligently find their ability measured and so would be given more responsibility. She, then, enjoined all to work harder in their various archdeaconries and parishes for better results. (MOI)
