Akpo (Aguata LGA), April 26, 2021 (MOI) Chairman All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Akpo Ward, Mr Jude Ezeobi has urged all rural dwellers to strive to participate in politics.

Mr Ezeobi made the call during a meeting to usher in, as a member, Mr Nnamdi Stanley Umennebuaku, who joined the party at APGA Secretariat, Nkwo Akpo on April 24.

Ezeobi said: “politics is the vehicle that drives institutions of the society; by not being active in politics is inimical to societal growth and development.

“Politics creates opportunities to decide who will rule, betterment of education, agriculture, infrastructure development, health, security; every other institution of the society is dependent on who is in the leadership,’’ he noted.

“So, if you are not participating, you are not helping matters at all. To participate, you need a voter’s card.

“INEC shall soon display voters registered for Gubernatorial Election to be held in Anambra State on Nov. 6.

“Start now to prepare in making sure that your name is in the register. Convince at least five persons to register and have their voters’ cards.

“Voters’ cards are personal property that identifies you anywhere in Nigeria. It is free of charge and registering makes you a good citizen,’’ he observed.

The chairman, who welcomed the new member with enthusiasm, assured him of equal rights with the old members.

He urged him to work for the party wholeheartedly, having in mind that APGA was ours.

A former Councilor, Akpo Ward, Mr J O Mbakwe in welcoming the new member said: “APGA is more than a political Party; it is a family, where everybody is carried along’’.

The motto is: “Be Your Brothers’ Keeper’’ (Onye Aghana Nwanne Ya), this is part of the slogan even in markets, workplace and everywhere we find ourselves’’.

Transition Committee Member, Akpo Ward, Mr Obinna Ezenwanne while welcoming the new member said: “now that you are a member of APGA, you owe APGA the duty to propagate the party.

“Share APGA achievements with people, call them to come and join you in APGA.

“Put in your resources for the success of APGA; you will not regret it. APGA is indeed rewarding.’’ The newly registered member, Mr Umennebuaku accepted the party’s Constitution and ways of doing things, promising to abide by them wholly. (MOI)
