Oba (Idemili South LGA), Dec. 13, 2020 (MOI) Newly elected Executive Committee of the Youth wing of Okpuno-Aboji Development Authority (ODA) has pledged to run an inclusive executive committee.

All aggrieved parties must forgive one another in order to pave way for peace.

The Youth Chairman, Mr Obiora Ugwummadu made the appeal after a keenly contested executive committee polls, adjudged to be transparent, free and fair at Okpuno-Aboji hall, Oba in Idemili South.

Ugwummadu promised to run an open door policy, saying that peace and unity were required to usher in progress and development.

“On behalf of my executive, I thank you for electing us today. I beg everyone to forgive.

“Let us embrace peace and forgive one another, regardless of the offences. We are all brothers.

“I promise that we shall carry out our duties under the supervision of ODA as provided for the Constitution. Our first project will be installation of gates at all entry points into our village,’’ said Ugwummadu.

The Okpuno-Aboji, Oba Youth executive members comprise Obiora Ugwummadu, Chairman; Kenechukwu Ibeabuchi, Vice Chairman; Oscar Okoye, Secretary; Emeka Mkpobili, Treasurer;

Others are Izuchukwu Maduakonam, Financial Secretary; George Chukwunweugwo, Provost and Onyebuchi Onyemaenu, Commander.

According to Ibeabuchi, the Vice-Chairman, I will support the chairman in order to ensure that those who lost in the election will work in harmony with the executive to achieve great things during our tenure.

The Scribe, Okoye said he was elated at his victory, praying to God to help his fellow youths to attain their own heart desires in their chosen fields.

The Financial Secretary, Maduakonam re-assured the community that he would ensure that under his watch, financial probity, transparency and accountability would be upheld.

Earlier in his remarks, Chief Chigbata Madu of Aboji Akanano tasked the new executive not to derail from good works but to be good examples to other youths.

President, Aboji Akanano, Nze Dozie Nweke urged the youths not to do anything that would tarnish their image or bring the Aboji village known to be trail blazers into disrepute.

ODA Chairman, Mr Sunday Ugboma, while inaugurating the new executive, advised them to abide by the oath of office that they have vowed to uphold and conduct their affairs in line with the Constitution.

The outgoing Okpuno-Aboji Youth Chairman, Mr Ebenezer Ajaefo advised the youths to continue with the peace and unity he initiated and always seek advice from the elders if you must succeed. (MOI)
