Awka, June 4, 2021 (MOI) Anambra State Information Commissioner Mr C Don Adinuba has urged the elite to always speak the truth at all times so as not to compromise the reputation of the state.
Adinuba said this when the executive committee of the Anambra chapter National Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) paid him a courtesy visit at his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka.
The commissioner urged members of the institute as reputation managers to help to straighten the political elite so that they would not destroy the state with lies but to tell the truth especially with the upcoming election for a better Anambra State.
Chairman of the NIPR chapter, Prof. Stella Okunna, who was represented by Mr Ikenna Umeanolue, said their mission as partners of the information ministry for their upcoming reputation summit.
According to Umeanolue, information management is key to a reputable society and plays a vital role in the discussion of a sensitive issue as security challenges help to achieve desirable solutions.
“We as an institution have considered it necessary to address the issues of insecurity in the country and therefore a government that cannot grant security to its citizens has failed,’’ he said.
This year’s theme is: “Security challenges in Nigeria, implications for National Stability and Reputation’’. Guest Speaker is Prof. Angela Nkiru Nwamuo of the Mass Communication Department of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam.
The commissioner commended them for their hard work and promised Gov. Willie Obiano’s support.
Mr Theophilus Okeoha Member thanked the Commissioner for his warm welcome and commended Gov. Obiano on his efforts in terms of security saying that we all need to support him.
The Reputation summit will be held on June 17 at Hilton Leisure Resort and Hotel Regina Caeli Road, Awka.
There was a presentation of the invite. (MOI)
