Awka, Dec. 4, 2020 (MOI) When you see a Police helicopter fly over the airspace of Anambra State, sometimes at low altitude, do not panic.

A Surveillance Helicopter in Awka

This is in your own interest as it will be a routine mission to seek out security information to the security agencies in the state.

It will maintain regular surveillance on black spots and hard-to-reach areas of the state in order to identify odd movements and ensure appropriate responses.

“Just like the Phoenix, we have risen from the ashes of troubled times occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic and the mindless hijack of the peaceful #endsars protest,’’ quipped in a top Government security source.

The source adds: “we have risen from the lockdown, the insane arson and grotesque bloodletting, looting and murder of policemen and citizens alike, to a season of peace, stability and thanksgiving.

“We have redoubled our efforts at upholding the Constitutional responsibility of protecting life and property of Ndi Anambra.’’

A party source adds: “it has always been in our character to deploy our strength and energy, in the spirit of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), to be our brother’s keepers; this is in keeping with the party slogan: “onye aghana nwanne ya’’.

This has been the bedrock on which Gov. Willie Obiano led administration in Anambra State has been built.

“It is on this foundation that Anambra State has emerged as the 4th current largest economy in the country,’’ it added.

“This is the state with the lowest unemployment rate, best in fiscal responsibility only after Rivers State, a massive agricultural revolution, excellence in education, youth empowerment, massive infrastructure development and astounding legacy projects.

“It from this background that these legacy projects – Anambra State Airport, 10,000-capacity International Conference Centre (ICC) and the Football Stadium are emerging.

“This is the foundation for functional, effective and sustainable security network, for the protection of life and property of Ndi Anambra and their visitors alike.’’

This has become a tradition of sorts — one that Gov. Obiano cherishes and maintains over the past six years and counting — a special, robust and effective end of year security for Ndi Anambra.

Ndi Anambra, you are all welcome December, a Yuletide season that many return home for celebration of Christmas and New Year festivities.

It is also a time to celebrate and join families, friends to host many heart-warming events — a time of joys and fanfare but also a time of anxiety over what the coming will have to offer.

But there’s no need to worry. The Anambra State Government has taken steps to ensure that you celebrate this Yuletide season in total safety.

The Governor, Chief Obiano has adequately equipped and motivated officers and men of the Anambra State Police Command to take charge of the security of the cities and communities.

According to the Governor, the Police formations will be complemented by a special detachment of the Army in assuring safety of all, which started over the past two months.

“And to support the efforts of the gallant security agents, the Nigeria Police Force will deploy a Police helicopter to keep an eye on the skies by providing periodic aerial surveillance security information.

“These efforts are aimed strictly at ensuring that you are safe through the Christmas celebration, right to the New Year,’’ Gov. Obiano said.

An expert security source specially engaged for the period, stressed, “this is why we fly, for the safety and peace of Ndi Anambra’’.

It enjoined residents of the state to assist the security agencies by calling a toll free number –112 to report any suspicious movement in your areas.

“Help yourself and your loved ones by remembering and obeying all COVID-19 safety protocols while you celebrate. This is the #Obianoeffect!.’’ (MOI)
