Awka, Dec. 25, 2020 (MOI) Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala while sharing bags of rice as Christmas gifts among staff members of his ministry, urged them to take preventative measures against COVID-19 pandemic seriously.
“As you go home to celebrate Christmas and the New Year, do not forget to observe the preventive measures established by the Government.
“I urge all of you to not relent in the fight against the pandemic, especially now that the second wave of COVID-19 is ravaging the world.
“It is still your duty as health professionals and staff members to advocate for people to continue observing the COVID-19 protocols,’’ he said.
The commissioner fulfilled his promise of ensuring that the staff members of his ministry would celebrate Christmas in grand style with the sharing of bags of rice each to them.
Saving One Million Lives Programme for Results (SOMLPforR), Dr Obiageli Uchebo thanked the commissioner for the gift.
Dr Uchebo praised him for being proactive as well as the hard work that helped the ministry and the state in containing the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many staff members were all in a joyful mood and commended the commissioner for the kind gesture shown to them. (MOI)
