Fegge (Onitsha South LGA), April 2, 2021 (MOI) Anambra State Civil Liberty Organisation (CLO) has condemned a recent attack on a gubernatorial aspirant, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.

A statement jointly signed by State Branch Chairman and Secretary Messrs Vincent Ezekwueme and Chidi Mba respectively, dubbed the attack barbaric acts.

“The attack on a leading All Progressive Grand Alliance Governorship (APGA) aspirant as most condemnable, horrendous, inhuman and despicable.

“Violence is the worst form of irresponsibility and lawless; there is no justifiable reason to attempt to take away the life of any citizen, which is the greatest gift from God.’’

It called for eternal repose of souls of gallant and patriotic officers, who lost their lives, for God to give the bereaved families the fortitude and grace to bear the irreparable loss.

CLO urged that adequate compensation be paid to the families of the officers, who lost their lives as well as an unconditional release of the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Emeka Ezenwanne, who was abducted at the scene of the incident at Isuofia.

“We appeal to our indefatigable Police Commissioner, Mr Monday Kurya to order for discreet and in-depth investigation into the dastardly act.

“There is the need more than ever before to beef up security around all Governorship Aspirants.

“ Politicians must think about the next generation’s peace, security and interest of our dear state,’’ the CLO said. (MOI)
