Mr Okafor said this during an unveiling of a new Housing Estate, known as Sunray, otherwise Esso Properties.
The event, which took place in Awka, attracted top stakeholders in the housing sector.
Unveiling Esso Properties, the Speaker observed that the investors came into Anambra as a result of the “Aku luo uno’’ policy of the present administration, led by Gov. Willie Obiano.
Okafor explained that housing had remained one of the most basic needs for man, stressing that a healthy environment promotes healthy living.
“Gov Obiano has shown that Anambra is the Light of the Nation.
“The Government provided the right conditions for businesses to thrive via the provision of security, street Lighting in addition to other basic facilities that will enhance investment.
“This will help to create direct and indirect employment opportunities, as well as the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR),’’ added Okafor.

The Managing Director and CEO, ESSO Properties, Mr Smith Ezenagu praised the lofty development ideas of the present Government that had contributed to inflow of investors into the state.
“The World over, Housing is one of the most basic human needs, just as food and clothing that is essential to man’s existence, welfare, mental and psychological well-being.
“Unfortunately, in spite of being an essential human need, it is estimated that over 30 per cent of the world’s urban population and 35 per cent of the world’s rural population cannot meet this fundamental need as they currently live in deplorable and unacceptable conditions.’’
Such conditions include open defecation, absence of improved sewage, overcrowding, a lack of portable drinking water, absence of or erratic power supply and poor access roads.
Others are a total absence of recreation centres, living in structures that were structurally unhealthy as well as insecurity associated with property rights.
“At ESSO properties, we have identified this pressing human need, its peculiar challenges and have devised innovative and creative real estate products, aimed at delivering first-rate, affordable and secure property ownership for the top and low income earners in the society.
“Our three distinct Estate Models; Berry Prime, Sunray and Summer View are built to meet the high, medium and low income individual
