Awka, May 9, 2021 (MOI) Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State Command has re-emphasised the need to observe strict COVID-19 protocols, to avoid spread of the virus. 

The command said this during visits various parks in Anambra in order to sensitise commuters and re-awaken their consciousness on COVID-19 protocols. 

The exercise was in commemoration of the 2021 West African Road Safety week, entitled Road Safety Consciousness in the amid Global Pandemics. 

The team was led by a representative of the Sector Commander DCC Operations, Anthony O Ogbodo. 

They visited different parks in Awka, the Anambra capital to encourage passengers and drivers to always obey COVID-19 protocols including wearing of face masks, social distancing, use of hand sanitisers and regular washing of hands. 

DCC Ogbodo in an address enjoined them to always adhere to the protocols in order to guard against further spread of the virus. 

He also cautioned passengers and drivers who were not complying with the protocols to ensure they did so in the best interest of the country. 

He also reminded them that COVID-19 was still with us and we should obey all protocols as well as take the vaccine which had been provided by the Federal Government.  The Sector Public Education Officer, SRC Florence Edor said the programme, which was simultaneously carried out in all FRSC formations across the country recorded a huge success.
