Awka, Feb. 25, 2021 (MOI) Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS), has appointed a company known as Credence Fumzy Enterprises (CFE) to distribute waste management bills in the state.
This is contained in a letter signed by Chairman/Chief Executive, AIRS, Dr David Nzekwu, to all management of shopping malls and plazas in Anambra State.
“They are to capture, register and distribute sanitation bills to all shopping malls, shopping plazas and businesses operating within them in Anambra state,’’ the letter said.
It said, starting from March 1, throughout the state, CFE would be supported by AIRS’ Community Revenue Officers (CROs) who would be identified by their ID cards.
“The state government has not authorised any third party to collect ASWAMA Sanitation levies in the state.
“Any person, who without authorisation collects revenue or impersonates a revenue collector contravenes the provisions of the Anambra State Revenue Administration Law (ASRAL) and is liable on conviction to three years imprisonment or payment of fine as provided in section 65 (1) of ASRAL,’’ the statement added. The letter appealed to malls and plaza owners in the state to tell their tenants to use their individual ANSSID numbers to make their payments individually into the state government account through any of the commercial banks using the relevant code on the demand notice.
