Awka, March 12, 2021 (MOI) The Anambra State Police Command has paraded two female suspects, alleged to be involved in an act of assault and an attempt to commit murder of three children at the Federal Housing Estate, 3-3, Onitsha, Anambra State.

Parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters, Amawbia, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Haruna Mohammed said the suspects, Rejoice Raymond, 39, and Chidi Felicia Nwafor, 80 both of Umunya in Oyi Local Government Area (LGA) were said to have confined the three children — two boys and a girl in different rooms at No. 13 Akunwata Mbamalu Street, Federal Housing Estate, Onitsha.

The PPRO who lamented the high level of inhuman treatment meted out to the children maintained that they were seen in a pool of their blood with injuries all over their bodies.

The girl, who had her hand broken, was still receiving treatment in a hospital. The exhibits recovered from the scene of the incident include fetish substances, blood-stained canes, concoctions, and other incriminating items.

According to Mr. Mohammed, the investigations have so far revealed that the children were allegedly sold to the suspects by one Sabina Izuorah who is now at large.

Meanwhile, investigations are still ongoing together with the manhunt for other accomplices so that they will be apprehended and prosecuted within the confines of the law.
