Awka, March 30, 2021 (MOI) In line with the resolve of the Anambra State Government to stamp out examination malpractices in schools, the Ministry of Basic Education has concluded arrangements for the deployment of technology in monitoring of examinations.
This followed the approval by Gov. Willie Obiano for the installation of internet protocol cameras in examination halls of all public schools in Anambra State.
Commissioner for Basic Education, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha said this while addressing Education Officers in the conference hall of the State Ministry of Basic Education, Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka.
Prof. Omenugha directed all private schools in the state to install internet protocol cameras in their examination halls, in order to be part of this revolution aimed at giving umu akwukwo Ndi Anambra the confidence that they need to face examinations without external aid.
In a reaction that some schools that aid and abate examination malpractice might resort to taking their students outside the state for examinations, Prof. Omenugha stressed that the State Government’s position would be to close down any of such schools operating in the state but did not take their West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams in the state.
