Igboukwu (Aguata LGA), March 30, 2021 (MOI) Two persons — male and female adults have reportedly been killed in a lone fatal crash at Obiuno, Road, Igboukwu, Aguata Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra State.
The crash, which involved a total of four adults, had two seriously injured, while two were confirmed dead by a doctor on duty at a nearby hospital where they had been rushed.
The Sector Public Education Officer, Anambra State Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ms Florence N Edor, said an unidentified driver of a Lexus ES350 car with registration number KSF 403 GD was involved in the crash.
According to her, the speeding driver lost control, knocked down two women crossing the road and crashed into a building close to the road.
A statement said that while two persons (a male and a female) sustained varying degrees of injuries were taken to Apex Hospital Igboukwu, while 2 other persons (a male adult driver and an accompanying female adult) were confirmed dead.
“Their bodies were deposited at Apex Mortuary by a good Samaritan before the arrival of the FRSC rescue team from Igboukwu Command.
The statement added that Sector Commander, Anambra, Mr CC Andrew A Kumapayi wished the injured prompt recovery and condoled with the family of the deceased. “Desist from speeding; apply the recommended speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour recommended for the area. (MOI)
