Urum (Awka North LGA), Feb. 24, 2020 (MOI) Chairman of Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities Anambra State Chapter, Mr Ugochukwu Ernest C Okeke, has inaugurated a Skills Acquisition Centre.
The centre was built for the Obioma Vulnerable Group, funded by World Bank and facilitated by Anambra State Community Social Development Agency (ASCSDA) at Urum, Awka North.
Addressing World Bank Representatives, Persons With Disabilities and the people of Urum, Mr Okeke praised the World Bank for initiating and funding the centre.
“I appreciate the people of Urum for deciding to embark on such a project that will be very useful for persons with disabilities.
“I charge the PWDs Urum to endeavour to make judicious use of the centre and I promise to always come around to see to it that persons with disabilities have achieved through the centre.’’
In his vote of thanks, the chairman of Obiọma Vulnerable Group, Mr Emmanuel Okafor thanked the World Bank for remembering persons with disabilities in Urum.
“I thank World Bank for funding this project; I also thank the good people of Urum for giving persons with disabilities a sense of belonging.’’
A highpoint of the event was an official opening of the centre by Mr Okeke and exposition of produce made by persons with disabilities. (MOI)
