Umueze Anam (Anambra West LGA), Feb. 3, 2021 (MOI) The need to sustain the legacies of the present APGA administration under Gov. Willie Obiano at the forthcoming Nov. 6, the Gubernatorial election has been stressed.
Mr Chinedu Obidigwe, Member representing Anambra East and West Constituency at National Assembly said this during a stakeholder’s meeting held at Umueze Anam, Anambra West Local Government Area (LGA).
The lawmaker, who maintained that the APGA Government performed tremendously well in the development of the state, urged party faithful to remain resolute in support of APGA in the Nov. 6 polls in the state.
“In spite of the economic meltdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, Gov. Obiano is still performing marvellously well with Umueri Cargo Airport and in the economy generally.
“He has continued with the building of the state stadium at Awka as well as massive investments on infrastructure that has been generating levels of economic activities; regular payment of salaries and pensions.
“These legacies need to be sustained by ensuring that APGA emerges victorious at the November 6, elections.’’
He described the stakeholder’s meeting as timely, noting that it was an avenue for party faithful to share ideas and suggestions.
“It’s a channel, where people voice their opinions, whether negative or positive with the intention of providing solutions to issues raised as well as fashion out solutions, and by extension facilitates possible winnings during election,’’ he added.
Mr Obidigwe thanked the convener of the meeting for his grassroots mobilisation approach and support for the Obiano administration, urging him not to relent in his efforts toward sustaining the legacy of the APGA government in Anambra West.
The convener and Member representing Anambra West Constituency in the State House of Assembly Mr Patrick Obalum Udoba, who rendered a brief account of his stewardship, thanked the stakeholders for their support.
He lauded Government’s legacies in Anambra West, urging the party faithful to remain resolute in support of APGA leadership.
On the forthcoming Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Voter Registration, Mr Udoba reminded Ndi Anambra West to participate actively in the process so as to increase its voting strength.
The Transition Committee Chairman, Anambra West LGA, Sylvester Orji-Okafor noted that Anambra West had benefited immensely since APGA took over the mantle of leadership in the state.
He listed some of the benefits to include Umueze-Miata road, Iyiora Bridge, N20 Million Community Choose Your Project Initiative; Mmiata-Nzam and Ezi-Anam-Onono road under construction.
The TC chair, urged Ndi Anambra West to reciprocate by working toward sustaining these legacies through ensuring that APGA emerged victorious in the Governorship polls.
Chief Jacob Madukolu, who spoke on behalf of the stakeholders, thanked the lawmaker, noting that he had performed beyond expectation.
He urged the lawmaker not to relent in his efforts toward entrenching more dividends of democracy, through quality representation and sustaining the legacy of the APGA government in Anambra West. (MOI)
