Awka, Jan. 26, 2021 (MOI) Newly transferred Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Dr Emma Ude Akpeh has urged workers to add value to their duties by shunning lateness and always make themselves available to perform some tasks even at weekends.
Dr Akpeh said this while addressing the workers in the transport Ministry at Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.
The Perm Secretary emphasised that the workers should not wait to be mandated to perform their duties.
“Any staff member can be called on the telephone to do a job wherever he or she may be, either via phone or computers. This is because these tools have made job delegation and performance much easier.
He promised to reward any staff member, who would perform to his expectations in achieving results on the mandate of the ministry.
The perm sec, however, urged the workers to bring up their challenges to his table through their Heads of Departments, promising to tackle them accordingly.
Dr Ude Akpeh had previously served in the office of the Secretary to Government (SSG) as perm sec before being moved to Transport Ministry.
The Head of Department (HOD) Marine, Mr Christopher Okeke, while welcoming the perm sec on behalf of the staff members said that the workers were ready to put in their best to achieve results and make the transport sector of Anambra the best in the country. (MOI)
