Awka, Jan. 21, 2021 (MOI) The newly appointed Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment, Mrs Theodora Okwy Igwegbe has resumed duties at the ministry.
The Permanent Secretary urged staff members to work hard so as to grow to the ministry into enviable heights.
Mrs Igwegbe said this during her inaugural meeting to announce her arrival to the ministry.
The Permanent Secretary, a former Deputy Clerk at the Anambra State House of Assembly said that her mission to the ministry would be to bring about innovations to the ministry.
According to her I hope to help the ministry to achieve its goals through encouraging team spirit in the system.
She advised the workers to be disciplined, punctual to work and committed to their duties.
“I urge you all to step up and work hard because hard work strengthens and brings fulfillment to one’s soul while laziness weakens people.’’
She urged them to pull off the cloak of laziness because, “it is only through hard work that success will be achieved’’.
She, then, enjoined staff members to uphold ethical principles and team spirit so that the envisaged success of the ministry would be obvious.
Acting Director, Information Department, Mr Tony Nweke, expressed joy with the new perm secs’ zeal to uplift the ministry and assured her of the support of the entire staff members. Mrs Obiageliaku Umeadi, who had acted as perm sec in the ministry, had earlier led the opening prayers before the commencement of the meeting. (MOI)
