Awka, Dec. 10, 2020 (MOI) Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade and Commerce, Anambra State, Mr Daniel Chibueze Okoli has been described as a seasoned administrator.

He was commended for using his vast knowledge on the job to improve the Ministry.

These were commendations from Directors and Heads of Departments of the Ministry during a meeting called by Mr Okoli.

Mr Okoli used the forum to announce his retirement from the service on attaining 35 years of active service.

He urged the workers that he was leaving behind to contribute their quota toward ensuring sustained quality service delivery to the Ministry.

“The civil service has a well organised system in which any individual who loves discipline can use to build up their careers.

“Heads of Departments should be more knowledgeable about the job and put in their best to improve their departments, especially the Commerce, Cooperative, Market and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Departments.

“I promise to render whatever assistance needed from me anytime you call upon me.’’

The outgoing Permanent Secretary advised young civil servants to study the Civil Service Rules so as to shun undue quests for financial and material gratification.

Director of Accounts, Mrs Ebere Okonkwo described Mr Okoli as a diligent and versatile man, whose drive for discipline was well known in the state civil service.

She, on behalf of the HODs, promised to control the affairs of the Ministry to ensure progress and continuity.

She called on other HODs to tidy up their jobs as the year was running out in order to avoid State Audit query or indictment as the state government prepares to meet up with the World Bank deadline of rendering state accounts.

HOD Administration Department, Mrs Uchenna Mbanaso said: “Mr Chibueze Okoli is not what people think he is.

“I have worked closely with him over the past one year and I can testify that he is a man with a heart of gold.

“His outlook depicts him otherwise but I can tell you he is a father to the core.’’

HOD Commerce, Mrs Henrietta Basil-Ideh described Mr Okoli as a well seasoned leader with a wealth of experience to inculcate in others.

HOD Market, Mr Frank Iloduba described the man as a seasoned administrator, who has worked hard to put things in order in the Ministry. (MOI)
