Awka, Dec. 20, 2020 (MOI) The newly appointed Acting Executive Secretary/Director Agency For Mass Literacy Adult and Non-Formal Education, Mrs Regina Orakwe has appealed to staff members of the Agency for teamwork and transparency to move the agency forward.
Mrs Orakwe made the appeal during her first meeting with the staff members after replacing Mr Donatus Nwosu, the former director, who had just retired from the agency.
The meeting was held at the Agency’s Vocational Centre at the ASUBEB premises in Awka.
“I am new to this job. Many of you in this room understand the job more than me. You carry with you insights and experiences that I do not know, but I will strive to learn from you and you learn from me too.
“I, therefore, urge all staff members for teamwork, transparency and good delivery ability in the discharge of our duties. This is going to make the work much easier for all of us.
“By the special grace of God, and with your cooperation from you all, I promise to take the baton handed over to me by my predecessor to enviable standards,’’ Mrs Orakwe said.
“I am also delighted to use this opportunity to bid a farewell to the immediate retired executive director of the Agency, Mr Nwosu, she said, describing him as an exceptional leader and mentor.
The new director, then, thanked the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Kate Omenugha for the great opportunity provided her as the new acting executive secretary/director, promising to take the Agency higher heights than she met it. The head of Administration Department of the Agency, Mr Onyeka Anyaeji, thanked the Acting executive secretary, pledging to support throughout her tour of duty in the Agency. (MOI)
