Awka, Dec. 9, 2020 (MIO) A student of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Miss Ifechukwu Chinaemelum shared food and drinks to the less privileged on the streets of Awka to commemorate the International Day of Voluntary Service Delivery.
According to her I got the inspiration from the wife of Gov. Willie Obiano, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, who has been giving succour to the poor and vulnerable persons.
“She has been doing that through her Caring Family Enhancement (CAFE) Initiative, a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO).
“My desire to feed the needy on the streets did not only come from God Almighty but also from the good works that the Governor’s wife also known as Osodieme, had been doing through the NGO.
“Mrs Obiano has been removing the burden of the vulnerable children and indigent elders in the state with her acts of charity. I want to be a reflection of that generosity.’’
She, however, added that she did not just start doing that this year but had been into philanthropy with a dream of having her own NGO.
“This is not the first time I am doing this charity work of charity; I have done the same in 2018 and 2019 International Days for Voluntary Service Delivery.
“I will like to float an NGO in future that will be named `Ifechukwu Foundation’, through which my vision to give hope to the hopeless and succour to the indigent children and elders will be realised.’’
She called on public-spirited individuals in the state and in The Diaspora to offer love to the people, especially the indigent ones as that was contained in the commandment of God.
“I pray to God to help me to realise this dream of floating an NGO because I cannot do it alone without His Help and direction.’’ (MOI)
