Awka, Dec. 17, 2020 (MOI) Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Mr Kenneth Anierobi as a Commissioner nominee by Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra.
The House confirmed the appointment during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Mr Uche Okafor in Awka on Dec. 15.
The Speaker, Mr Okafor read out his confirmation on the floor of the House, while the lawmakers supported through voice votes.
The Chairman, House committee on Screening, Mr Paschal Agbodike had read out the report of the Committee about Mr Kenneth Anierobi.
Agbodike explained that after the committee screened the commissioner-nominee, they found him worthy in learning, character and experience to serve as a commissioner in Anambra State.
The House went into ‘Committee of the Whole’, where the lawmakers considered his appointment before confirmation.
In his remark, the Speaker advised, Mr Anierobi to be a good team player by working with Gov. Obiano and the House to achieve sustainable development of the state.
He urged him to employ his wealth of experience and knowledge in the discharge of his duties so that the people would feel his impact.
Responding, the Commissioner-nominee, Mr Anierobi pledged to perform above expectations.
He commended Governor Obiano and the Anambra State House of Assembly for finding him worthy to serve the state.
Also at plenary, the House passed a resolution to allow the Executive Arm of Government to carry out virement and revoting of 2020 Appropriation Law as requested by Gov. Obiano.
The letter to that effect was presented to the House by the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Mr Obinna Emeneka. (MOI)
