Onitsha, Dec 22, 2020 (MOI) Anambra State Commissioner for Works, Mr Marcel Ifejiofor and the State’s Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Andrew Kumapayi have been directed to relocate to the Bridge Head to design ease of traffic movements during this Yuletide season.
This was announced when the Corps Marshal of FRSC, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, alongside the State’s Sector Commander FRSC, Andrew Kumapayi and others ranking officers of the Corps paid a courtesy visit to Gov. Willie Obiano at the Governor’s Lodge, Onitsha.
The visit was to strategise and draw a better road map for ease of traffic flow in and out of Anambra State, especially, at the Bridge Head and other strategic locations in the state.
Receiving the delegations, Gov. Obiano cautioned commuters and road users to be conscious of road signs and observe traffic rules to avoid road traffic congestions.
Gov. Obiano noted that his administration was determined to provide every necessary logistics to security agencies and to the team of FRSC officers to be committed to efficient rendering of services.
Reacting, Dr Oyeyemi re-assured that no vehicle would sleep or cause congestion on the bridge, as the agency would deploy no fewer than 600 staff members across the state, to ensure steady vehicular movements.
Oyeyemi, then, commended Gov. Obiano for his unprecedented support, providing necessary logistics for effective service delivery.
While cautioning road users against non compliance with traffic rules, Oyeyemi urged the staff members of FRSC not to engage in booking of vehicles or paper cross checking during this period, to allow free movement of traffic. (MOI)
