Awka, Dec. 2, 2020 (MOI) Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala has praised a Team from the Federal Ministry of Health for embarking on evaluation of HIV/Tuberculosis in the state.
Dr Okpala made the commendation, while receiving the team from Federal Ministry of Health in his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.
The commissioner noted that the visit of the team would help the state to know areas they were not doing well with regards to HIV/Tuberculosis programmes in the state.
“As you look around, if you identify hard areas, where we need to improve on, please do not hesitate to notify us and let us know where we are doing well.
“The State Public Health Director, Dr Uchechukwu Onyejimbe will be available to assist you wherever you need our assistance while performing your duties.
“I thank you for coming around to help us to improve our healthcare and I wish you people a happy stay in Anambra,’’ he said.
Leader of the Team, Mrs Alice Emeka said that the purpose of their visit was to intimate the commissioner on the National Integrated Sample Referral System Network (NISRSN), programme in the state.
“This work has been on since February 2017, sponsored by partners and there is a scale-up from national — from the Federal Ministry of Health.
“We want to see how far the programme has gone even before now and three states were selected for this exercise. The states are Lagos, Anambra and Benue.’’
Mrs Emeka assured the commissioner that her team would brief him on the conclusion of their visit. (MOI)
