Amawbia (Awka South LGA), Nov. 24, 2020 (MOI) Rev. Fr. George Anaghalu says we are created to make God’s dreams come true in the world.

Anaghalu emphasised that the good we do to one of the least brethren, we do to Christ.

Fr. Anaghalu, who was on vacation, said this in a homily to mark the Feast of Christ The King at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Amawbia on Nov. 22.

“Jesus is the centre of creation; and so the attitude demanded of Christians as true believers is that of recognising and accepting in their lives; the centrality of Jesus Christ in their thoughts, words and deeds.’’

The cleric said that the feast was established by Pope Pius XI in 1925 as an antidote to secularism, “a way of life which leaves God out of man’s thinking and living’’.

“The feast is intended to proclaim in a striking and effective manner Christ’s loyalty over individuals, families, society, government and nations.

“It is a public, social and official declaration of the royal rights of Jesus, as God the Word Incarnate, Redeemer and Judge of the living and the dead, whose kingdom is supreme, universal, eternal and spiritual.’’

According to him, Christians celebrate this singular victory by which Jesus became the King of every age, the Lord of history: with the sole power of love, which is the nature of God, his very life which has no end.

“Jesus rule of love transforms sin into grace, death into resurrection and fear into trust,’’ he said, urging all to personally accept Jesus and His way of being King.

Fr. Anaghalu emphasised that Christ did not condemn us, nor did he conquer us, and he never disregarded our freedom, but paved the way with a humble love that would forgive all things, hopes all things, sustain all things.

He added that this love alone overcame and continued to overcome our worst enemies: sin, death and fear, inviting all to fix their gaze on Christ, the king of the universe.

He prayed for the peace of God that surpassed all understandings to keep the faithful hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God and of His Son, Jesus Christ. (MOI)
