Awka, Nov. 27, 2020 (MOI) Attorney-General and Commissioner Justice, Anambra, Dr (Mrs) Uju Nworgu has commended the Director of Legal Drafting, Miss Uju Metuh for some of many Bills passed that have been assented by Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra State.
She said the Department of Legal Drafting was involved in drafting, amendments, reforms of Laws and Regulations sponsored in collaboration with Anambra State House of Assembly and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
She noted there were numerous laws assented and also bills passed that the Justice Ministry was actively involved and some of them worthy to mention.
Dr Nworgu noted that such assented laws include Burial and Funeral Control Law, 2019, Sickle Cell Law 2019, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COUTH), Amaku, Àwka Establishment Law 2019, COVID-19 Pandemic and other Dangerous Infectious Disease (Prevention and Eradication), Law 2020.
Others are COVID-19 Pandemic and other Dangerous Infectious Disease (Prevention and Eradication (Amendment) Law, 2020, Traditional Rulers (Amendment) Law, 2020, Anambra State Erosion, Watershed and Climate Change Agency (ANEWCA), Law 2020.
The rest are 2020 Laws (Passed But Not Yet Assented), Àwka Capital Territory Development Authority Law, 2019, Anambra State Legislative Funds Management Law, 2019 and the Anambra State Youth Development and Empowerment Law, 2020. There are also 2020 Bills (Not Yet Passed), Public Audit Law, 2020, Administration and Collection of Revenue (Harmonisation and Codification) Law, 2020 and Magistrate Courts’ Law, 2020. (MOI)
