Awka, Oct. 31, 2017 -- The Commissioner for Information and Communications Strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta says the unexpected passage of Jude Nweke, after a brief ill-health, is an indication that we are on transit on earth.
Nnachetta, while rendering eulogy during lying-in-state ceremony of late Nweke, an Accountant in the Ministry of Information and Communications Strategy at Jerome Udorji Secretariat, Awka.
The commissioner said that late Nweke worked harmoniously with the staff of the ministry and that was why many of them were actively involved in his burial ceremonies.
Nnachetta reminded all, ``today is for Jude; tomorrow can be for another person. We should live our lives worthy of our calling’’.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Benjamin Umerah, described Jude as humble, peaceful, respectful and diligent staff, who worked assiduously to move the ministry forward.
``Jude was a trustworthy fellow, an accountant per excellence, everyone will like to work with.’’
He enjoined every staff to strive as much as possible to leave a legacy as Jude did.
Mr Umerah, then, advised Jude’s children to cling to their mother and pray always.
Rev. Aniekan Abara, who delivered sermon at the deceased’s compound during the burial service, noted that Jude had transcended to glory never to sleep again.
He noted that should all give account of our lives to God who is ever ready to judge.
