Pray for Anambra – Mrs. Obiano Urges Daughters of the Holy Spirit

The wife of the governor of Anambra state, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu
Obiano has called on Daughters of the Holy Spirit International Women Fellowship of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke to pray for the governor, Chief Willie Obiano and progress of the state. Mrs. Obiano made the plea while receiving the women in audience at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

The wife of the governor told the delegation that their mission of evangelization was a worthy one and stressed the importance of praying for the leaders, state, and our country especially in this period of recession. Said Mrs. obiano;

“I have heard and noted your commitment to evangelization and I support what you are doing wholeheartedly. I want you to take the message to the nooks and crannies of Anambra and ensure that every household imbibe the attitude of prayer as the master key which conquers all.”

Mrs. Obiano observed that the notion that Anambra is a very difficult place to lead is a wrong notion that is borne out of lack of prayers in our lives. She urged the women to gird their loins, noting that once they get it right the men are bound to join in prayers to the greater glory of God and good of the state.

Commending the Daughters of the Holy Spirit for the unity of purpose and dedication she noticed amongst them, the governor’s wife recalled her first encounter with them during their 2015 Convention and told them to keep it up.

Mrs. Obiano who is the founder of the Caring Family Enhancement initiative (CAFÉ), a non-profit, non-partisan pet project which has the mandate to care for the less privileged and reduce women-child vulnerability while promoting the dignity of the physically challenged persons among other programmes, assured that the governor is determined to total development of the state. As you can see, “even though resources are scarce he has embarked on road construction and rehabilitation as promised after the rains; my role as the wife is to support by ensuring that I get the less privileged members in our communities involved and where necessary identify opportunities for our women.”

Earlier, Commissioner for Children, Social Welfare and Women Affairs, Dr. (Mrs,) Victoria Chikwelu, recalled the interesting Talk delivered by Mrs. Obiano during the group’s convention last year, and explained how the governor’s wife is supporting her husband’s initiatives for good governance and progress of the State through her pet project. The Commissioner also commended the women for coming to appreciate and inform the governor’s wife about their evangelization and asked them to keep up the good work in line with their guiding principles.

Speaking on behalf of the Spiritual Director of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry,‎Uke, ‎Rev Fr. Emmanuel Obinma, Assistant Coordinator of Daughters of the Holy Spirit International Fellowship, Mrs. Vero Osanakpo said that they are a group of women under the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, who came together for prayers and evangelization. She explained that they are an international fellowship group with branches in major countries of the world, inaugurated in 2015 in accordance with the dictate of Christ to all “go yea out and evangelize.”

One of the highlights of the courtesy visit was the presentation of Prayer Manual approved by the Archbishop of Onitsha Catholic Archdiocese which the group were charged to take to all Parishes in the state as they go on with their task of evangelization and propagation of the gospel.
