Awka, July 4, 2018 (MOI) Only 10 of the 200 that applied to the Anambra State Small Business Agency (ASBA) for state Government Shuttle buses possess driver’s licence, a top government functionary says.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ASBA, Mr Clement Chukwuka explained that Drivers’ licence was a major requirement to assess the scheme.
Chukwuka said that as part of its commitment at ensuring that the empowerment was fairly handled, the agency would collaborate with Okada Unions and the Ministry of Road, Rail and Water Transportation, to ensure the success of the scheme.
He called on the motorcyclists still reluctant to embrace the initiative to do the needful in order to be among beneficiaries of the scheme.
The ASBA boss urged members of the public to desist from patronising
commercial motorcycle operators plying the restricted routes as anyone arrested
would be prosecuted in accordance with the Law. (MOI)
