01. OKPOKO COMMUNITY VOWS TO SUPPORT OBIANO

The people of Okpoko Community in Ogbanu Local Government Area have thrown their weight behind the second term in office bid of Governor Willie Obaino.
The President-General of the Community Chief Linus Ezenwa who spoke on behalf of the people during the visit of the wife of the Governor Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obaino to the area said that their decision to support the Governor during the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state was based on his numerous achievements in the past three years.
Chief Ezenwa who was former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly noted that before the present administration took office the country was taken over by heaps of refuge which constituted a health hazard to the people expressing satisfaction that the heaps of refuge have totally been cleared in fulfillment of Governor Willie Obaino’s promise during his visit to the Community.
He thanked the Governor for the Twenty Million Naira “Choose Your Project” grant given to the community which he said assisted the Community immensely in constituting a Magistrate Court in the community as well as health center of drilling of a water bore hole.
Chief Ezenwa while appreciating the visit of the wife of the Governor and member representing the Ogbanu One Constituency in the State House of Assembly Chief Benson Nwawulu also commended the Governor for ordering the landscaping and renovation of the entire structure of the Community Secondary School Olepko which was deserted by students for more than fifteen years due to flooding and dilapidated structures.
Responding, the Wife of the Governor Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano represented by the wife of the State Deputy Governor Mrs. Oby Okeke praised the leadership of the community for making judicious use of the Twenty Million Naira grant given to the Community by the Obiano Administration.
Mrs. Obaino enumerated the numerous achievements recorded so far by her pet project CAFÉ which she said carters for the less privilege and charged the people to be law abiding and always respect constituted authorities for peace, progress and growth of the society.
02. UKONZE CALLS FOR THE URGENT REHABILITATION OF OBODUKWU-AMAZU ROAD.

An Onitsha based industrialist from Mbosi chief Felix Ukonze has called for the rehabilitation of the Obodukwu road to Amazu to ease the traffic congestion at the upper Iweka in Onitsha.
Chief Ukonze who spoke to the press at Mkpukpa in Ogbaru local government area also urged Governor Willie Obiano to also tackle the rehabilitation of the Umunya portion of the Onitsha-Awka express way for easy flow of traffic.
According to the industrialist, the predicament of commuters will be greatly minimized if the road is fixed before full rains set in.
He further called for the rehabilitation of three or four vital roads in Onitsha to enhance commercial activities in the area.
Chief Ukonze expressed disappointment that for over three weeks, the Mkpukpa layout in Ogbaru local government area where he lives has been staying without light and therefore called for government’s intervention to fix and also increase the power supply in the area.
He announced that the people of the area gave the governor close to ninety percent of their votes during the last governorship election in the state and are willing to sustain their track record if motivated.
For his community Mbosi, he expressed delight that it has benefitted from the state government’s twenty million naira choose your project initiative, but asked for more government’s presence in the area.
Chief Ukonze further commended governor Obiano’s sound security network which made the state stable and the flag off of the Ivite Umueri international Airport project which has a lot of socio-economic benefits
