By John Ndu : Nigeria Police Force has expressed its resolve to further support the commitment of the present administration of Anambra State in the fight against crime and criminality.
This was revealed when some senior officers of Nigeria Police Force, under the auspices of Nigeria Police Sports Planning Committee, made a courtesy visit to the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
Receiving the delegation, Chief Obiano said his administration had invested heavily on security, vis-a-vis provision of highly sophisticated equipment for the police in the state, to arrest crime and restore peace in the state.
The Governor disclosed that with the assistance of the men of Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Navy, Civil Defence and other security agencies, his administration was able to arrest crime and criminality and as well destroyed their command and control centers.
He stressed that his administration would continue to carter for the welfare of security agencies, as well as providing every necessary facilities to ensure maximum security, which in return would attract influx of investors.
The Governor also commended the Federal government for restoring peace in the crises ridden communities in the Northern part of Nigeria.
On his part, the leader of the delegation, and the Chairman Nigeria Police Sports Planning Committee, AIG Sani Mohammed, said the present administration of President Buhari is determined to enthrone peace in the country.
AIG Sani X-rayed that the essence of their visit was to notify the state governor, Chief Obiano, their proposed plan for the 2017 Nigeria Police Sports to be held in Anambra State.
The Leader observed that the unanimous decision was due to the excellent security the state had enjoyed in the past three years, making it the safest state in the country.
He also notified that the sports which would commence between June to August would attract various security personnel and men of Nigeria Police Force.
The Chairman also commended Governor Obiano for his developmental strides, saying that the Nigeria police Force would always partner with him to ensure long lasting peace and security in the state.
