WE ARE SET TO INTRODUCE CCTV IN ANAMBRA MARKETS – COMMERCE COMMISSIONER

Awka, July 11, 2018 (MOI) Anambra State Commissioner for Commerce and Wealth Creation, Dr Christian Mmadubuko has initiated plans to introduce CCTV monitoring system major markets in Anambra.
``We have since identified 63 major markets in the state to check all forms of criminal activities within them,’’ Mmadubuko said this to newsmen during interactive session in Awka.
He said government was concerned about cases of theft in markets and therefore decided to introduce the system to assist to fight the ugly trend in the interest of government, consumers and marketers.
``We want to stop criminality in the markets and the CCTV, when introduced will help government and the traders in stemming the menace.
``We all know the benefits that will come with it. That is why government is doing everything within its powers to ensure that it is a reality. It is a project that must be done,’’ Mmadubuko said
The commissioner recalled that the project was conceived by Gov. Willie Obiano on assumption of office in 2014 but had to be delayed until now.
Mmadubuko described the project as a noble initiative, which must be implemented.
