Onitsha, Dec. 4, 2018 (MOI) Anambra State Government says it is ready to clamp down command and control centres of criminals in the state.

Gov. Willie re-stated his resolve in providing adequate security in every nook and crannies during the yuletide season.

Gov. Obiano assured Ndi Anambra in The Diaspora that they would be safe and secure as they visit home, because his government had unveiled new measures to provide all-encompassing security to secure their lives and property.

The Governor said this when he visited Upper Iweka, Onitsha, Anambra State, to switch on the Christmas lights, to mark beginning of the yuletide season.

Obiano recalled that Upper Iweka was once a notorious den of criminals, but was re-captured by his administration during a renewed security drive.

While commending security agencies in the state for their doggedness in securing the state, Gov Obiano was hopeful that the 2018 Christmas season would attract massive investments to strengthen the state’s economy.

``We won't take it lightly with criminals. We have fortified our communities and empowered security agencies, including vigilance groups.

``I warn those planning to perpetuate evil to refrain from such, as we will continue to make life unbearable for them.

``Every Onye Anambra is enjoined to feel free to come home; your security is assured. Bring your children home to enjoy the yuletide season in their villages,’’ Obiano added.

Commissioner for Power and Public Utility, Mr Obi Nwankwo commended Gov. Obiano for transforming the state to attain international standards.

Dignitaries at the occasion are the Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke, Members of the State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Mrs Rita Mmaduagwu and security agencies in the state as well as political office holders. (MOI)
