Awka, April 19, 2018 – A Former Bishop of Ahiara Catholic Diocese, Rt. Rev. Peter Okpaleke advises Christians to use their Godgiven talents to prepare for the kingdom of God.

Bishop Okpaleke said this during a funeral mass at SS John and Paul Parish Awka for late Sir Charles Nnebe, a papal knight of the order of St. Sylvester.

The Catholic prelate described the late Nnebe as a workaholic in the Lord’s Vineyard, whose imprints are seen in most of the parishes in the diocese.

Okpaleke advised all to live lives worthy of emulation instead of lavishing our wealth in frivolities.

The bishop said that while Sir Charles contemporaries were thinking of how they will take new titles and acquire more property, he was thinking of how to build the house of God.

‘’What we owe him is to ask God not to forget that man of God, who used his wealth to serve God,’’ Okpaleke said.

Bishop Okpaleke enjoined parents to direct their children in the best way to follow in life so that they would not go astray.

The bishop in his emotion laden homily said that parents should pray so that all their efforts should be emulated by their children.

He prayed that the labour of our heroes past shall not be in vain, saying that in whatever profession or occupation we find ourselves, we must use it to serve God.
