Otuocha (Anambra East LGA), Jan. 9, 2020 (MOI) Traditional Ruler of Aguleri, Igwe Micheal Idigo has called on his people to eschew violence, maintain peace and unity for progress to thrive in the community.

Igwe Idigo made the call during his Ist and 120th Ovalla Festival tagged ``Ovuobi’’ at Amaigwe Square, Aguleri.

``Ovalla brings all the festivals in Aguleri together as well as heralds the beginning of another year.’’

Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra State was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Primus Odili.

The governor noted that only peace and unity could bring development into a community.

The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu said it was the highest Ovalla festival marked in the history of Aguleri.

He thanked Igwe Idigo for maintaining peace since he ascended the throne.

The Ovalla featured award of chieftaincy titles to a former Central Bank Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo as `Odenjiji Aguleri’, also Mr Austin Oguenioffor as `Okutalukwe Aguleri’.

Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Mr Chinedu Obidigwe congratulated Igwe Idigo and the Chieftaincy title recipients.

The festival attracted people from various areas including government functionaries, traditional rulers, royal cabinets and others. (MOI)
