Ogwuaniocha gets new PG

Ogwuaniocha (Ogbaru LGA), March 23, 2020 (MOI) Mr Chidi Eze has emerged as the new President-General, Ogwuaniocha Town in Ogbaru Local Government Area (LGA).
He will pilot the affairs of the community over the next four years.
The election was held at the Local Government Hall, Atani at the expiration of office of the past executive.
Every member of the community participated in the exercise: they were those from home as well as statutory delegates.
The election was observed by delegates from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Awka, the Nigerian Police, the Nigerian Navy, Civil Defence and the Directorate of State Services (DSS).
This was aimed at maintaining peaceful election, promoting free, fair and credible exercise.
In a post election speech, the new PG Mr Eze expressed joy to his people for finding him worthy.
He promised to carry everyone along and to work for peace and progress in strengthening the unity and social harmony existing in the community.
``My leadership will partner with the state, LG and Traditional institution in order to initiate meaningful development.’’
The new PG, then, pledged to respect orders from the state government down to community levels, adding, ``a tree can never make a forest’’.
Former PG, Mr Alphonsus Nwobi, thanked his people for making the right choice by electing credible candidates to pilot their affairs in next three to four years.
Nwobi said he was optimistic that this current leadership would bring the desired development to their community.
Mr Gerald Akaeze, on behalf of his team from Ministry of LG and Chieftaincy matters, Awka, applauded the people of Ogwuaniocha for their peaceful conduct of the polls, saying that it was worthy of emulation.
Transition Chairman of Ogbaru LG, Mr Arinzechukwu Awogu, while receiving the new executive in his office thanked the people of Ogwuaniocha for their decent conduct throughout the exercise.
The new elected officers are Mr Ekwealua, Vice-President; Mr Christopher Obitube, Secretary-General; Mr Chimezie Nnanyi, Assistant Secretary; Prince Peter Ebeze, Financial Secretary.
Others are Mr Lawrence Emejor, PRO; Mr Uzoamaka Titus., Treasurer; Uzoalor Kenneth Akachukwu, Provost I and Mr Udom Casmir O Provost II. (MOI)
