By John Ndu
Awka South, Jan. 11, 2018 -- Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra has assured the people that his government has positioned security personnel at strategic places, ahead of the Jan. 13 Anambra Central Senatorial Re-run Election.
The governor gave the assurance while addressing the people of Awka South during APGA campaign rally for the Anambra Central rerun election, at old Awka Stadium, Awka.
Gov. Obiano announced the closure of every market within the Anambra Central senatorial district to enable the people to participate fully in the election.
``I encourage you to come out and cast your votes. Protect it at the end of the voting. Ensure your votes are counted, to record another victory for APGA.
``With these APGA victories, more states will be captured and it will motivate some political bigwigs in APGA land to accept that APGA is the only Igbo party,’’ Obiano said.
He commended the people for voting APGA massively during the last governorship election.
The APGA candidate for the Jan. 13, Anambra Central Senatorial zone rerun, Chief Victor Umeh promised to restore the lost political hopes in the zone.
The member representing Awka North and South in the Federal House of Representatives, Mr Anayo Nnebe commended Umeh for his performance at the National Conference in Abuja.
This was also re-echoed by his counterpart from Awka South in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Nnamdi Okafor.
They said he had the passion to stand for Igbo agenda.
