NATIONAL ORIENTATION AGENCY ADVOCATES VIOLENCE-FREE 2019 POLLS

Adazi-Ani (Anaocha LGA), Feb. 8, 2019 (MOI) National Orientation Agency (NOA) has conducted campaigns for violence-free elections at Eke Market Square, Adazi-Ani, Anaocha LGA.
Mrs Nkechi Onwuka, who led the campaign team, noted that educating the youths on dangers inherent in election violence was necessary as they were always used to foment trouble.
She urged mothers to persuade their children not to get involved in electoral violence because of dangers inherent in it.
``Mothers are likely to be seen more here at the markets but they are in vantage position to caution their children at home,’’ she said.
Mrs Onwuka taught the people how to thumb print to prevent the problem of invalid votes cropping up.
She enjoined the people to conduct themselves in orderly and civil way during the elections to stem eruption of violence at polling stations.
The District Police Officer (DPO), Anaocha LGA, Mr Asadu Onyekachi, a Superintendent, who was represented by Inspector Sunday Nnamani, urged Ndi Anambra to exhibit good behaviour and desist from executing violent acts during the elections.
He re-assured of adequate deployment of police personnel during the polls and urged the mothers to convey the message to the youths.
Mr Linus Ezeonugo, Financial Secretary, Adazi-Ani Town Union, said the campaign was imperative and urged the people to cast their votes on elections days.
He enjoined parents to convey the
message of violence-free polls to their wards at home. (MOI)
