IGALA COMMUNITIES SOLICTED TO REPRESENT ANAMBRA WEST IN HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

Anambra West, April 18, 2018 -- The Igala speaking communities in Anambra West Local Government of Anambrs state has commended Governor Willie Obiano for appointing one of their sons a commissioner in the present Anambra Executive Council.
The communities under the aeiges of Igala grassroot voters’ forum said Governor Obiano has made history because the appointment was the first of its kind in the history of the communities since the creation of the state in 1991.
Howevr, the communities appealed to state government to allow an indigene of the Igala speaking community to represent Anmabra West Constituency in the House of Assembly in the upcoming 2019 general election.
The Chairman of the forum Mr. Edwin Udorah while adressing a meeting of the forum in the Anambra state capital, recalled that Igala community had been neglected and marginalized until the coming of the prresent administration and thanked Governor Obiano for remembering them.
Mr. Udeorah noted that Igala speaking community is one of the communitiews in Anambra state with the highest voting strength which have suppoerters of APGA.
“Iwant to also remind our people that Governor Obiano has promised to construct a military bridge to link the Island community of Olumbanasa to other parts of Anamnbra state,” Udeorah said.On his part, community leader in the area Hon. Kenneth Okonkwo commended the people of the community for turning out enmass to vote for Governor Obiano during the last governorship election and urged them to sustain peace in the area so as to always speak with one voice.
